THE long-anticipated list of Stockland Birtinya Shopping Centre tenants has arrived. Fresh Fruit Brothers, RA Quality Meats and Saffron India speciality grocer will open alongside the flagship Coles and Aldi stores in December. Newsagent Birtinya News & Gifts and King IT are also locked in, and Sushi Ichiban will join the extensive fresh food precinct.

This will span 10,648sq m and comprise of 40 speciality retailers including two mini-majors and an open-air dining precinct.

Development manager Caitlin Sandford said they had received a great response from local and national fresh food and convenience retailers looking to open new stores in the centre. “We are confident that, on completion, Stockland Birtinya will become the star local destination for the community to meet, eat, shop and socialise,” Ms Sandford said. “Our vision is to create one of the best retail shopping destinations on the Sunshine Coast, offering customers a fantastic experience with a range of retailers and brands.

“We look forward to welcoming these new retailers to the centre in December and announcing additional retailers in the months to come.”

The massive development nearby the Sunshine Coast University Hospital has rapidly taken shape, with parts of the exterior completed, signage visible and the 522-space car parks well under way. This forms part of the $830 million Birtinya Town Centre masterplan which includes a civic plaza, walkable waterfront along Lake Kawana and open green space integrated with commercial, health-related research facilities and high-density residential.
